Quotations & Estimates
Where possible, we will provide a quotation or estimate before carrying out planned work.
A quotation is based on the information available to us at the time and the work described within that quotation. Unless stated otherwise, additional work or materials that were not reasonably identifiable before work began are not included.
Estimates are provided as a guide and may change where the actual work, time or materials required differ from what could reasonably have been anticipated.
Where additional costs become apparent, we will normally discuss them with you before carrying out significant additional work.
Appointments
We will make reasonable efforts to attend appointments at the agreed date and time.
Occasionally, circumstances outside our reasonable control may cause delays. These may include emergency callouts, traffic, availability of parts, previous jobs taking longer than expected or other unforeseen events.
Where practical, we will contact you if we expect a significant delay or need to rearrange an appointment.
Access To The Property
You are responsible for ensuring that we have safe and reasonable access to the property and the areas where work is required.
This includes arranging access to locked areas and, where reasonably necessary, moving personal belongings or furniture away from the work area.
If we are unable to carry out work because suitable access has not been provided, an attendance or cancellation charge may apply where this has been communicated to you in advance.
Additional & Unforeseen Work
Plumbing, heating and gas systems can sometimes contain faults or defects that are not visible until work has started.
Examples may include hidden leaks, damaged pipework, seized fittings, defective valves, corrosion, unsuitable previous installations or other concealed problems.
If additional work is reasonably required, we will explain the issue and any additional charges before proceeding where practicable.
Parts & Materials
Parts and materials supplied by us will be suitable for their intended purpose and will normally be selected based on availability, compatibility and the requirements of the work.
Where a particular manufacturer, product or specification has been agreed, we will make reasonable efforts to supply that item.
If an agreed product becomes unavailable, we will discuss any suitable alternative with you before substitution where the difference is significant.
Manufacturer warranties remain subject to the individual manufacturer's terms and conditions.
Payment
Payment terms will normally be stated on your quotation, invoice or other written agreement.
Unless alternative arrangements have been agreed, payment is due in accordance with the payment terms shown on the relevant invoice.
Larger installations or projects may require a deposit, staged payments or payment for materials before work begins. Any such requirement will be explained before you agree to the work.
You should contact us promptly if you believe an invoice is incorrect or wish to discuss a payment issue.
Cancellations & Your Right To Cancel
If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please give us as much notice as reasonably possible.
Where you enter into a qualifying consumer contract with us at a distance, such as by telephone or online, or away from our business premises, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days.
If you ask us to begin providing services during an applicable 14-day cancellation period, we may ask you to expressly request that the work starts early.
If you subsequently cancel after work has started, you may be required to pay a reasonable amount for services already supplied up to the point of cancellation.
Where a service has been fully completed during the cancellation period following your express request and acknowledgement, your statutory right to cancel that completed service may no longer apply.
Contact us clearly stating that you wish to cancel your booking or contract.

Emergency Callouts
Where you specifically request us to attend your home to carry out urgent emergency repairs, different cancellation rules may apply to the emergency work required.
This does not automatically remove cancellation rights for unrelated or non-urgent additional work agreed during the visit.
Any applicable callout charge or emergency rate will be explained before attendance where reasonably possible.
Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the problem and property where reasonably possible.
- Informing us of known hazards or safety concerns.
- Providing safe and reasonable access to the work area.
- Ensuring an authorised adult is available where required.
- Obtaining any permissions that you are responsible for, including landlord or property-owner consent.
- Following reasonable safety or operating advice provided after completion of the work.
Workmanship & Warranties
We aim to carry out all services with reasonable care and skill and to a professional standard.
If you believe there is a problem with work we have completed, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we can investigate.
Where an issue is caused by defective workmanship for which we are responsible, we will take appropriate steps to put the work right in accordance with your legal rights.
Product and manufacturer warranties are separate from our workmanship obligations and may be subject to registration, servicing and maintenance requirements.
Existing Faults, Installations & Damage
We are not responsible for defects, damage or failures that existed before our work began or which arise from parts of an installation outside the work we have agreed to carry out.
Older or poorly maintained systems can occasionally fail when disturbed during necessary repair work. Where we identify this risk, we will explain it where reasonably possible.
Nothing in these terms removes any responsibility that we have where damage is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful for us to do so.
We remain responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by inaccurate information, unsafe existing installations or unauthorised alterations made by another person.
Complaints
We want customers to be satisfied with the service they receive from JTS Plumbing & Gas Ltd.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work, please contact us and give us reasonable details of the issue so that we can investigate.

Your Consumer Rights
These Terms & Conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Services supplied to consumers must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. Where no specific time or price has been agreed, consumer law may also require services to be completed within a reasonable time and for a reasonable charge.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions and any contract between you and JTS Plumbing & Gas Ltd are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you retain any rights relating to where legal proceedings may be brought that apply under consumer law.
Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our services, business practices or legal requirements.
The version applying to an agreed job will normally be the version in force when the relevant agreement was made, unless otherwise agreed or required by law.
